Operation Operation

Loop Commissioning Tool (TE-LCT)

To carry out testing of loop cabling and device the TE-LCT must be connected to the loop using the supplied loop connection leads. Each lead consists of a 'banana' plug at one end (connected to the TE-LCT) and a crocodile clip at the other end (connected to the loop cable). See diagram left.

The TE-LCT's software meny system is verysimple, operating on an options and sub-options system for ease of navigation. The main menu options are: -

Loop Diagnostics allows the TE-LCT to check the connected loop cables for resistance, loop drive and return device quantity, open circuit/short circuit fault conditions, and loop cable screen faults.

Device allows the TE-LCT to check loop device quantity, loop device addresses, single loop device data and allow the user to re-program a device address.

Print allows the TE-LCT to print device quantity, device addresses, either single or a range of device data and saved loop data.

LCT Options allows the user to check the battery status, program function keys, toggle and display back-light on/off and modify printer communication settings.

Save/Display Data allows the user to save, display and upload a maximum of 4 loops of data. This data is retained even when the TE-LCT is turned off.

Help provides the user with help information on all the TE-LCT menu options
