Luminaire Spacing Guide
These are mandatory locations to cover specific hazards and to locate safety equipment and signs.This should be performed regardless of weather the area ia an emergency escape route or defined as an open area. Only when this is accomplished should the type of liminaire or its light output be considered.
Points of emphasis, Near Stairs. Each tread needs to receive direct light; Near each piece of fire lighting equipment or call point; Near all changes of level; Near each change of direction; To illuminate Exit doors and safety signs; Outside and near to each final exit; Near each Dirst Aid point; Near each intersection ot corridors.
The Lite Control Centre
The AEL-CA1 control panel forms the corner stone of the LiTe range of emergency lighting control products. It is fully compatible with all of the LiTe luminaires, conversions and peripherals and provides a flexible, cost effective solution to any emergency lighting testing and monitoring system. The panel fully supports both S90 and PuLsE protocols and provides real-time monitoring and automatic testing of the emergency lighting installation to satisfy statutory testing requirements.
The panels can be fully on site programmed using the onboard alpha numeric keypad, or if required, by uploading a pre programmed configuration from a PC running Windows tools. Up to 500 automatic test schedules can be programmed per year. This automatic testing can be carried out at any time by simply pre-programming the time, date and duration of test for individual or multiple groups of lights. 80 test groups are provided as standard, the first 20 of which have dedicated indicators for test and fault conditions. All automatic and manual tests have a fail-safe terminate feature for each individual luminaire under test. A Maintenance Isolate Feature (Inhibit Mode) is also incorporated for automatic test override.
The control panel has a dynamic event log for recording of test results and fault conditions. Permanent records of all automatic tests can be printed on to A4 paper by connecting an optional printer. Alternatively the data can be transferred to a database on a central PC for subsequent analysis listing and printing. The panel is modular in construction and fully expandable. A single line driver will accomodate up to 200 addressable luminaires (126 S90) over a 2 core communications circuit. Each panel can control up to 5 line drivers allowing up to 1000 (630 S90) luminaires per panel. Further expansion is easily acheived by networking up to 95 LiTe panels.
Pulse
The PuLsE protocol brings major advantages and benefits to the control system architecture. All standard features and functions are maintained whilst offering the following enhanced operational and installation benefits:
Monitors and displays an analogue reading of light level for individual luminaires at the panel.
Systematic cross check of charger and battery voltage and charger level measured by each PLU and displayed at the panel.
Soft addressing from the control panel reduces installation times and eliminates problems with double addresses.
Configuration of luminaire operating characteristics from the panel (i.e. number of cells, type of fitting - maintained/non maintained).
Interference free, high accuracy, light level monitoring using the unique 'FoLd' (Fibre Optic Level Detection).
PC-NET
Remote monitoring with full diagnostics and configuration is also possible by connecting the panel to a low cost modem. Windows based software running on a remote PC can be set to periodically dial in to each panel and automatically download and print the test results.
Lite
A full range of high quality maintained and non-maintained luminaires complement the control panel. Luminaires are available as self contained or slave units for central battery or static inverter systems. A seperate PLU (PuLsE Lighting Unit) is also available for retrofit to existing emergency lights or conversion of third party fittings by an approved company.
